Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple



Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple Sanchok mochak temple  is one of the blessed temples of the Hindu god Hanuman in the city of Varanasi (Banaras), Uttar Pradesh. It is located in the southern part of Varanasi, near the Banaras Hindu University. Lot of monkey inside the temple premises so it is also known as monkey temple.

Mandir Construction :

It is believed that temple was established by the great saint Goswami Tulsidas. After solving some diputes again Sankat Mochan Temple was re established by the freedom fighter Pandit Madan Mohan Malviyain the early 1900s. A Special Shobha Yatra (a parade) is organized every year from Durga temple (Durga Kund) to the Sankat Mochan Temple.

Sankat mochak means relief provides from obstacles . Devotees offers Desi ghee ke basan laddo ,garlands and sindoor to Idol . It is first temple where lord rama idol is infront of hanuman idol which makes it different to others .

Opening Time of the Temple

The Sankat Mochan Temple opens at 5:00 am in the morning and closed at 10:00 pm in the night.

Aarti Timing

There are 2 Aarti performs in a day . Aarti timings are 5 AM in the morning (Manla Aarti), and other at 9 PM in the night (Sayan Aarti).
Worshipping the Lord Hanuman is the most effective way for pleasing the Shani. According to the astrology, it is also considered that worshiping Lord Hanuman will also offset the conflicting effect of the Mangal Grah (Mars) .
